Sentinel X200 Noise Reducer Liquid 1 Litre is a non-acidic chemical treatment for 'kettling' in central heating boilers caused by limescale. This happens where localised boiling develops on the surface of the limescale deposits creating small steam bubbles which result in a rattling noise as they leave the surface of the deposits and travel around the system. One 1 Litre bottle of X200 Noise Reducer is ideal for systems with 8 to 10 radiators however the time it takes for the boiler noise to be eliminated is dependent on the hardness of the limescale and the quantity of limescale within the boiler. In severe cases the system may require a second dose of X200 Noise Reducer Liquid to remedy the problem. The X200 Noise Reducer Liquid is simply added to the system:
- For an open vented system the X200 Noise Reducer Liquid is added to the feed/expansion cistern via a bypass feeder or via a sentinel dosing vessel
- For a sealed system that has not been filled the X200 Noise Reducer Liquid is added to any convenient access point before filling the system.
- For a sealed system that has been filled the X200 Noise Reducer Liquid is added using a sentinel dosing vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.
However not all system noises are limescale related and maybe caused by sludge, black iron oxide deposits, which would require a dose of Sentinel X400 to cleanse the system.
