The Honeywell DU144 Automatic Bypass Valve controls the flow of water through a bypass circuit installed between the flow and return pipework, near or at the boiler. Building regulations advice that if a bypass is installed that an automatic bypass valve must be fitted. The DU144 Automatic Bypass Valve saves energy by only allowing flow through the bypass when it is needed, for example when flow through the system is reduced due to zone valves or radiator thermostatic valves are closing.
